The SMS Outfit and Joinery department specialise in the fit-out of luxury yachts, commercial vessels and the manufacture of individually designed joinery for land based projects. SMS provide bespoke interiors on a complete turnkey basis in partnership with our in-house resources, external design houses and architects to assist clients in achieving their dreams.
Located half a mile from the SMS main yard in Southampton is our 11,500 sq. ft. specialised joinery facility, fully tailored for luxury yachts, commercial, and other special land based projects.
Our business can provide global support, and by providing this specialised service we can carry out installation anywhere in the world, be it a new build, refit project or the installation of handcrafted joinery for residential projects. From onsite survey, to handing the client their finished project we have the resource at hand to deliver.
Our highly skilled team of interior specialists produce interiors that are second to none using both modern and traditional techniques. We can integrate the interior envelope of the most complex large motor or sailing yacht into a yet-to-be built aluminium, steel or composite structure. These skills we find give us a unique eye on detail that residential work will benefit from and the high-class work associated with the world of superyachts be translated to work on land.
Along with our dock facilities, our fully equipped workshop allows us to accommodate all manner of large or small projects. These can range from full refits/restorations of smaller craft with our team of traditional boat builders to, producing interior mock ups of larger projects with highly skilled joiners. This allows us to work through every stage with the client who can see their interior taking shape at the same time as the yacht build.
